Rare Chinese probably late Ming Dynasty to Early Qing, large framed Silk Hand Embroidery Tapestry depicting Buddha figure of Vajradhara. The primordial buddha, personification of the Dharmakaya - truth body of enlightenment and progenitor of the Vajrayana system of Buddhism. Peaceful in appearance, with an attractive cold gilt face. The right hand holds a vajra scepter and the left a vajra-handled bell. Beautifully adorned with a five-pointed crown of gold, each point resembling buddha of the five families.

With gold jewels, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, anklets and a girdle, he wears an upper garment. The lower body is attired in a skirt. Seated in vajra posture with the legs interlocked atop a lotus throne. The characterized Aureole nimbus surrounded the Buddha, gently elevating from the pedestal, with delicate floral motif. With the two feet crossed in vajra posture, right over left upon a double lotus throne. Sets upon a multi leveled pedestal, surrounded by the demountable rays of nimbus light emanate from the pedestal throne. The piece is framed in a gold metal frame and matted. Piece that will make a collector very very happy!!! Measurements: The Embroidery measures approx. 42 (107cm) Tall x approx. The piece itself measures approx. 33 (84cm) Tall x approx. Provenance: From a Palm Beach, Florida Estate.
