Large size CHINESE EXPORT solid silver HEAVY DRAGON TEA CADDY. Zeewo c. 1900

  

OVER THE NEXT WEEK, I WILL BE LISTING SOME VERY DECORATIVE, UNUSUAL AND STYLISH ITEMS OF ENGLISH, AMERICAN, CONTINENTAL AND CHINESE EXPORT SILVER. The caddy has a LARGE repoussed and engraved Dragon, trailing all the way around. The Dragon is well modelled with excellent FACIAL FEATURES and SHARP SCALE DETAIL. There is a large pull off lid.

The underside is clearly hallmarked for Zeewo c. This is a large caddy, standing 13.5cm tall and a circumference (distance all the way around) of 34cm, at the widest point. The tea caddy weighs 243 Grams (7.81 troy ounces). CONDITION : FINE SUPER CRISP CONDITION. I have had a special interest in CHINESE EXPORT SILVER since the early 1990s and have owned many, many wonderful pieces. I have a good eye and knowledge and completely stand behind the items I sell.
