Antique Chinese Large Polychrome Carved Wood Statue Figural Lamp, Circa 1900

  
An interesting carved and painted wooden figural lamp base. It belonged to our late relatives who as i can remember always displayed it as a statue rather than a lamp but i cant see why it could not be rewired and put back into working order. The item we are sure is Chinese and hand carved from a light wood and then painted. The lamp depicts a figure or warrior with unusual ball items in both hands, he has quite an expression. Behind a in depth carved wooden tree. Mounted on a high base. Interesting and unusual, we think it dates to the 1900s early 20th century. Size 14" tall by 4.5" wide and 5 deep approx.
