Antique Large Asian Chinese Red Laquered Wooden Storage Trunk Chest Qing Dynasty

  
Antique Chinese trunk believed to be from Guangxu (1875- 1908) period, Qing dynasty. This rather large but beautiful trunk is certainly well travelled and would look at home in both modern and traditional interiors. In overall good condition for an item of this age. The underside has signs of previous woodworm that has long gone. (please note this is not at all visible unless the trunk is turned over) there is some slight damage to the wood on the back and a small part of the right hand hinge also at the back has broken off.

This does not affect the use of the trunk and could possible be fixed by a skilled professional if you felt needed. The brassware and inside of the trunk are is great condition and the red lacquer although shows signs of use still looks shiny and quite honestly lovely!
