Antique large Chinese blue Beijing glass bottle vase, probably 18th century, on a slightly splayed foot, the base with a four-character Qianlong mark, height: 35cm. Condition: some crizzling, 3 bruises and chips to glass.

Peking glass originated in China in the 18th century, after Jesuit missionaries introduced modern glass-making methods. Soon after, the Kangxi Emperor established an Imperial glass-works to produce snuff-bottles and vases, usually imitating jade and other precious stones.
