Chinese 19thC large lidded Baluster Vase. Cobalt blue and white 31cm H
Magnificent Large Chinese Baluster lidded vase 31cm (Over 12 inches) tall. Superb decoration in underglaze cobalt blue in the Kangxi style. The main decoration is of an exotic Phoenix bird (Ho-ho bird) perched on a branch with stylised Peonies surrounding the tree.
It is very much in the Kangxi style but I believe it dates to the latter part of the 19th Century. Nice use of white space to the rear of the vase. A really stunning vase for decoration or for a collection. The restoration does not detract at all from the beauty of the vase. The vase has been priced to take this in to account. Will be sent very well packed. Part of the Conception Classique range of Ming and Qing Dynasty fine Chinese Antiques.
