CHINESE RARE YUAN TO MING DYNASTY BLUE WHITE LARGE HEAVY CHARGER PLATE - 49 CM. A beautiful, large and heavy Yuan to Ming Dynasty Blue-White Porcelain Charger Plate (49 cm/19 inches in diameter). This gorgeous rare antique piece is finely hand painted with a blue/gray tone on white heavy porcelain, detailed with elegant floral motifs as well as a tranquil duck scene in the center. It likely originates from the period of the Yuan to Ming Dynasties in China (13th-14th Century AD). It is a large, heavy and sturdy piece with aging visible in the burn-color underglaze on the circular base.

It is in excellent condition commensurate with its age, with no chipping. It does have a superficial hairline crackle on one of the edges that measures 2 inches down one edge of the plate, but it is not a deep structural crack and does not affect the overall structure or sturdiness of the plate. My grandparents had strong ties with China and were collectors of authentic Chinese Art in the mid 20th century. Over the course of 30 years they acquired and collected many rare and important pieces - from the early archaic period through the early Republic period.
