Large 19th c. Kanxi Imari Chinese Porcelain Bowl, Elders, Children & Blossoms

  

Elders, Playing Children & Lotus Blossom Design with Red Border c. Stand not included but available upon request. Unusual large thick bodied Chinese porcelain Imari bowl with beautiful hand painted underglaze decoration. Kanxi double circle mark on base (see photo) probably an honorific later mark.

Some firing marks inside the bowl and salt pips. Full decoration of nine elders and flowers on the interior. Ornamental band on interior and exterior rim.

Delightful iron red and blue children playing and butterflies on the outside. Quite a large, heavy bowl in extremely good condition. Top diameter measures 10.5.

Double foot rim measures 6. This seems to be a stand alone piece with no comparable examples. Interesting, highly decorative and speculative piece.
