Stunning large mid 19th century Chinese bronze censer on stand, c1850. The quality of the casting is very fine with the whole censer profusely decorated in an intricate bamboo / root /foliage design with small birds perched on the foliage. Lid, legs and handles are all highly stylised depictions of bamboo topped off with a large bamboo root finial on the lid. It is heavy for its size at almost 3kg and has character marks to the base.
The bronze has taken on great colour/patina following many years of use. Overall condition is very good in line with age and use. Please refer to the detailed photographs and feel free to contact me if you would like to view the item or have any questions. Size: 31cm tall x18cm wide x13cm deep, weight 2.7kg.
