This is a beautifully made antique Chinese rootwood lamp dating to the 1920s and carved as a deity (possibly Erlang Shen, an ancient figure in Chinese mythology) with a dog on a chain. It is 18.5 tall including the brass fixture, weighs 2.6kg and is in very good condition with some usage wear and a few minor losses and splits, is wired to modern UK standards, and comes complete with a large decorative lightbulb.
