A nice large antique Chinese porcelain figure dating to the 19th century or early 20th century. The statue depicts a man in a standing position wearing a green robe with a floral pattern, and holding a bamboo stick in his left hand. He also wears a small hat.
The right hand is removable, and has a hole for it to be removed or inserted back. The figure measures approximately 35 cm (or 13.75 inches) high. The figure is in good condition considering its age. There a firing flaw on the figure's right foot, and a minute chip on his head near the hat. The removable right hand has lost all its finger tips and some of the object its holding. However it is rare for figures of this type to still have this removable hand, as I have seen many which no longer have it. LARGE ANTIQUE CHINESE PORCELAIN STATUE OF STANDING FIgURE WITH BAMBOO STICK.
The figure mahy also be called a famille verte figure as it mostly has a green pattern. The figures weighs 1268 grams, so very heavy for its size. Someone in past had also tried glue the right hand, and the glue stain can still be seen. All of these have been pictured for accuracy.
However as you can see from the picture, it is still an impressive figure. Get Images that Make Supersized Seem Small. Showcase your items with Auctiva's.
