An absolutley stunning sculpture of superb quality. The artist's attention to detail is quite spectacular, from Guanyin's head to the base of her throne there is nothing left out, robes flow majestically, her face, hands and feet all finely finished, even her head dress and necklace are not overlooked. Her Lotus Throne is on another level, with, once again, incredible attention to detail to the lotus leaves and the pre-flowering lotus buds and swirlling stems. The quality shown on this sculpture is far superior to most seen on the market today, with the more commonly seen, commercially produced modern Chinese types being the most prolific, this superb example is an original, exceptionally high quality hand made sculpture with at about 163 years of history. To the back of the sculpture can be seen both a Dehua gourd seal and a He Chaozong Revival, square potter's seal.

BODY DIAMETER =9,1/2(24cm). ALL WEIGHTS & MEASUREMENTS ARE APPROXIMATE. Superb condition, no repairs, no cracks, no hairlines, and no grazing. The colour is of a natural cream, off-white, quite a few photographs have been taken in various lighting conditions to try and capture this, but if you are in doubt, further photos can be taken to your own requirements.

The sculpure has been in storage for many years and there are areas that look a bit dusty and dirty as it has not been completely cleaned. Unfortunately however, there is one lotus leaf missing from the throne decoration, this could be replaced by a good restorer if so desired although it does not destract from the overall apearance of the piece, simply beautiful.
