Magnificent Antique Large Chinese Sewing Jewellery Box Black Lacquer Shell Inlay

  
This wonderful old box is not without flaws and could no doubt be an incredible piece with some restoration however it functions well and personally I think the wear and tear gives it beautiful vintage character. Apart from the typical scuffs and loss of shell inlay in areas I can see that the lid has been re glued at the seams so I assume that sometime in its life it has had a little accident. The repair job has not been executed with great finesse however I still think it looks fabulous.
