Stunning Qing Chinese copper plated large frame with beautiful raised dragon & chrysantheum repousse..... Also featuring an original Victorian family photograph. This is quite a large frame measuring 14.5 inches by 9.25 inches.
E the amount of photograph shown is nine inches by five inches so the frame itself is approximately four inches wide although the dragons and the chrysanthemums do extend inwards in some places from the outer frame. The frame is copper plated on a base metal there are small areas where the copper has rubbed off and the base metal is showing but this is all part of its natural charm and history and to be expected considering it's age, as it is from around early 1900's. The backing board of the photo frame is still intact although it's missing a couple of clips used to secure it , it still has three of the original clips see all photographs. It also features a hoop attatched to the top of the backing board to hang it on the wall.
Unfortunately the easel back portion or pedestal stand which would allow it to sit on a flat surface is no longer there but that can easily be replaced. Finally there is some weight to this extraordinary picture frame. I have no idea what the base metal is?
