With the graceful garlands of pink roses with green leaves and the intertwining of a purple rope design which wraps around the bowl, it brings one straight into the 18th century of Robert Adams. The rim is a fine brass at the top, while the inner part of the rim is a mixture of red, green and purple design which gets highlighted by a ribbon of garlanded purple, with the pink Famille Rose flowers.
And in the centre of the bowl, at the bottom is one delicate pink rose. The bowl measures 9 in diameter. The condition is good in that there are no repairs or real cracks. But there are a few fine hair cracks at the top with one tiny chip.
To me, this is an exceptional bowl full of grace and charm. The price takes into account the faint hair cracks, and one tiny chip, which I only noticed when I photographed the bowl.
